NOTE: If you have reached this page from a search engine, be sure to click here to discover resources about thousands of wonderful family-friendly places! Updates to Kids Love Tennessee Additions: ME- TITANIC. Pigeon Forge. 2134 Parkway, TN 37863. (800) 381-7670. www.titanicpigeonforge.com. Hours: 9:00am-9:00pm daily. Admission: $20.58 adult, $9.84 child. Towering 100 feet above street level, this ship-shaped venue holds more than 400 artifacts and historic treasures. It allows each visitor to encounter the personal, heroic and tragic stories of Titanic's passengers. Each guest is assigned a passenger or crew member to follow on the timeline. Often, you see items from that person during the tour. The museum does a wonderful job to re-create many parts of the ship including the magnificent grand staircase and the dining room. See where each class slept for the night or try to stay afoot as the museum floor slopes down like the sinking ship. You also have the opportunity to see what 28 degrees feels like (temperature of frozen water surrounding the ship). Younger kids may be a little scared when they get to the part of the ship sinking (noises). Staff are peppered throughout in period costume who are kind and very helpful. Interactive Area and Tot Titanic Play and Learn Room. Climb the decks of the sinking Titanic (watch, it gets pretty slanted), drive the ship around a massive virtual iceburg, type out Morse Code (mayday!), tie knots and then ride in a replica wooden life boat to safety. In the Titanic Play room, meet “Polar” the bear, little Richard Smedden’s toy bear that was recovered from one of the Titanic’s actual lifeboats. This virtual bear interacts with the children in a very Disney like experience! This themed exhibit is very well done and well worth admission if you are sure to engage your kids to follow the storyline of their assigned character. Did your passenger survive? ME - Wild Bear Falls at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. Gatlinburg, TN - 865-430-4800. On the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg's first indoor waterpark claims to be the biggest in the South. It certainly seems that way, with 60,000 square feet of watery fun. Between the 900-foot lazy river to the pair of slides (one body, one tube), the park also features an entry level pool for toddlers and an interactive waterplay area. Wild Bear Falls is an indoor waterpark for Westgate resort guest, but only when it wants to be. The greenhouse roof is retractable, opening up when the climate is nice outside.
